Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Audiobook Player (“the App”) is designed to keep your data on your device. The App does not have user accounts, does not use analytics or advertising, and does not send your personal information to the developer or to any server we operate. In fact, the developer operates no server at all.
This policy explains what that means in practice.
Who we are
Audiobook Player is developed by Danil Kashin (“we”, “us”). If you have any questions about this policy or your privacy, contact us at danil.n.kashin@icloud.com.
Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. The App has no sign-up, no login, and no user profile. We do not have a server that receives your data, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
Data stored on your device
The App stores the following on your device only, so it can work and remember your place:
- The audiobooks you add (your audio files and cover images).
- Your playback progress and current position in each book.
- Bookmarks and any notes you add to them.
- Your listening history and statistics.
- Transcripts, if you turn on the optional on-device transcription feature.
- Your settings and preferences (theme, playback speed, sleep-timer and auto-rewind rules, and similar).
This data stays on your device. It is not uploaded to us. You can remove it at any time (see “Deleting your data” below).
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store using In-App Purchase (StoreKit). We never see or receive your payment details. The App only receives from Apple whether you currently have an active entitlement, so it can unlock premium features. Your purchase is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Network connections
The App works fully offline for everyday listening. It only makes network connections in these optional cases, and only when you use the relevant feature:
- On-device transcription (optional). If you enable transcription, the App downloads a speech-recognition model from a third-party model host (Hugging Face) the first time it is needed. This download transfers only the model files. Your audio is never uploaded — all transcription runs locally on your device, and your audio and transcripts never leave it.
- Wi-Fi upload (optional). If you use the Wi-Fi upload feature to transfer audiobooks from a computer, the App runs a temporary server on your local network so your computer can send files directly to your device. This data stays on your local network. Nothing is sent to the developer or to the internet.
The App also uses your local network to discover AirPlay devices (such as a HomePod or Apple TV) so it can show the correct device when you play to them.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The App contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share personal data — because we do not collect any.
Third-party services
- Apple — In-App Purchases and the App Store. See https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Hugging Face — hosts the speech-recognition model that the optional transcription feature downloads. See https://huggingface.co/privacy
We only connect to these services for the purposes described above, and we do not send them your personal information.
Children’s privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because the App collects no personal data, it is suitable for use without providing any personal information.
Deleting your data
All of your data lives on your device. You can delete it by:
- Removing individual books, bookmarks, or transcripts within the App, or
- Deleting the App, which removes all of its on-device data.
Audio files you added through the Files app may remain in the Files app if you placed them there; deleting the App does not remove files stored outside the App’s own storage.
Your rights
Because we do not collect or store your personal information on any server, there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, or delete. You remain in full control of the data on your device, as described above.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and post the revised version at this address. Significant changes will be reflected in an App update.
