How can we help?
Answers to common questions about importing books, playback, your subscription, and privacy. Can't find what you need? We're one email away.
Getting started
How do I add audiobooks?
Tap the + button in the Library. You get three ways to import:
- Folder — pick a folder of audio files.
- Audio files — pick one or more loose audio files.
- Wi-Fi upload — send files from a computer over your local network (see below).
You can also use the Files app: Files → On My iPhone → Audiobook Player, drop in a book folder, then relaunch the app or pull down to refresh the Library.
Which file formats are supported?
The app plays .mp3, .m4a, and .m4b files with embedded ID3 / iTunes-style metadata. It reads those tags to build titles, authors, and chapters.
How should I organize my files into books?
One folder = one book. Put all of a book's audio files in a single folder. Subfolders are not scanned, so keep everything for one book at the top level of its folder.
How does Wi-Fi upload work?
Choose Wi-Fi upload from the + menu. Your iPhone starts a temporary server on your local network and shows a web address plus a one-time passcode. On a computer connected to the same Wi-Fi, open that address in a browser, enter the passcode, and upload your files. Nothing leaves your local network.
My chapters are out of order — how do I fix it?
If every file has a track-number tag, chapters are ordered by track number. If not, the app falls back to sorting by filename (natural order). To force an order, either set the track-number tags on your files, or rename them so they sort correctly (for example 01 - Intro, 02 - Chapter One).
My cover art isn't showing up.
The app first uses artwork embedded in the audio file. If there's none, it looks for a sidecar image in the same folder named cover.jpg, cover.png, folder.jpg, or folder.png (any capitalization). Add one of those and re-scan. You can also set a cover manually from a book's edit screen.
Playback
What is auto-rewind and how do I set it?
Auto-rewind steps back a little when you return after a break, so you don't lose the thread. You define rules that pair a "paused for at least X" threshold with a "rewind by Y" amount. When you resume, the largest matching threshold wins. Configure it in Settings → Auto-rewind. (Premium feature.)
Does the app remember where I stopped?
Yes. Your position in each book is saved automatically and restored the next time you open it. Your most recent book is also preloaded on launch, so the mini player is ready right away.
How does the sleep timer work?
Set a duration or choose end of chapter. Audio fades out smoothly when the timer ends. With shake-to-reset enabled, you can shake the phone to extend the timer without unlocking. (The sleep timer is free; shake-to-reset is a Premium feature.)
Does playback continue with the screen locked?
Yes. Audio keeps playing when the screen is locked or the app is in the background, and you can control it from the Lock Screen, Control Center, and AirPods — play/pause, skip, previous/next chapter, and speed. AirPlay and Bluetooth work through the standard route picker.
Subscription & billing
What's the difference between Free and Premium?
Free is permanent and supports up to 3 books, with basic listening: play/pause, scrubbing, chapter navigation, skip, the sleep timer, and Lock Screen / Control Center controls.
Premium removes the book limit and unlocks speed control, volume boost, bookmarks, shake-to-reset, auto-rewind, statistics, extended history, and transcription/search. There's a 14-day free trial, and it's available as monthly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with, then open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases. Purchases are handled by Apple, so they carry over to any device on your Apple Account.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside the app. On your iPhone open the Settings app → your name → Subscriptions, choose Audiobook Player, and cancel. You keep Premium until the end of the current billing period. A lifetime purchase never expires and has nothing to cancel.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are issued by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the purchase, and request a refund. We don't process payments and can't issue refunds directly, but email us if you need a hand.
Transcription & privacy
How does transcription and transcript search work?
Transcription runs entirely on your device. The first time you use it, the app downloads a speech-recognition model; after that you can search across your transcribed books and tap a result to jump to the exact spot in the audio. Your audio and transcripts never leave your phone. (Premium feature.)
What data does the app collect?
None. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. Your books, progress, bookmarks, history, and transcripts all stay on your device. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
What do I need to run the app?
An iPhone running iOS 26 or later. The app is iPhone-only and designed for portrait orientation.
